Designer Jill Golden may be a local, but she's certainly no stranger to the rest of the world. Each collection from her jewelry line, Flutter, is inspired by her nomadic adventures, from flea-market finds from Buenos Aires, to a sojourn in Morocco, and a chill-out in Montauk. The fall '10 line, Lamar Blvd, is no exception, with tough rings, medieval looking bangles, and cowboy-ish chains all inspired by an extended road-trip she took to Austin, Texas. The Cartier alum, who founded Flutter back in '08, went a decidedly darker direction this season, forgoing her usual colored semi-precious stones and cute charms for a rugged, Western vibe that's definitely good-girls-gone-bad. We can imagine chic cattle herders rocking the Powell bangle in oxidized silver, or Austin band The Skunks jammin' out in the Carlton cuffs. So, even if you don't have enough vacation days left for a jaunt to Argentina, you can still get that foreign thrill with a quick stop at Albertine. |
