Shortly after presenting his first collection for Theory, Olivier Theyskens, a veteran of Nina Ricci and Rochas, shocked — or make that thrilled — the fashion world when he announced he would become a permanent fixture at the company, overseeing a higher-end Theyskens’ Theory collection as well as the label’s more accessible main line. “The collection is for cool girls that like to wear clothes that are visionary, while still being right for today,” Theyskens says. “These clothes are what I would wear if I were a girl.” Look forward to wardrobe staples like a sharp, fitted wool blazer and a variety of knits and printed silk dresses along with more of-the-season pieces like silk palazzo pants, cropped blouses and sexy bodices. (Prices range from $90 to $1,150). Whichever way you slice it, he’s back.

Available January 27 in the United States at 40 Gansevoort Street and at theory.com. Available February 3 worldwide.
